Tryout Information
Welcome to the 2024-25 Rockford Volleyball Club Season!
Rockford Volleyball Tryouts are open to any players regardless of the club you have played for in the past. We encourage any player to come and see what we have to offer at tryouts!
- Rockford Volleyball does not "pre-select teams". Each season is a new season and athletes must tryout to make a team again. We aim to make the best team with the athletes that come to try out and do not allow politics (what school you play for, what club team you were on last year, etc) to come into our decisions.
- The club director will be on hand for all tryouts to answer any questions and discuss our club’s philosophy of working with the whole person.
- If a player is injured and cannot try out please contact the club director, as far in advance of tryouts as you can.
Tryouts
- This evaluation helps us welcome new players into the club. Team placements will be finalized during the first 1-2 weeks of practice to ensure the best fit for each athlete.
Practices
- MIDDLE SCHOOL - Practices for Middle School start November 14 and end in April
- HIGH SCHOOL - Practices for High School run from November 14 and end in April
Makeup Tryouts
- Fall tryouts will be November 2nd, 5-8pm
- Makeup tryouts will be November 3rd, 2-3pm

Tryout payments are non-refundable.

Please plan to have your athlete at the entire tryout. This is a closed tryout between the athlete and coaches. Parents are not allowed in the gym.

All athletes must be at the tryout day in order to be considered for a team.

An email will be sent to the parent once acceptance into RVA has been completed and with instructions on signing.

Players may be put on a waiting list for a team if not initially selected. If a selected player does not accept the spot on the team, we will select another player from the waiting list at that time.

Tryout Process

| Pre-Registration | Athletes Pre-Register on our website to allow us to provide adequate staffing for tryouts and to make registration faster on site. The tryout fee is $30 | |
| On Site Registration | ALL ATHLETES MUST PRE-REGISTER! NO WALK-INS WILL BE ALLOWED. Everyone should arrive 30 minutes early to check in and receive tryout t-shirt & number | |
| Tryout Evaluation | Athletes will be guided through the tryout and evaluated thoroughly by coaches. | |
| Club Selection | Coaches and Club Directors meet after tryouts to select those accepted into the club | |
| Communication | Emails will be sent out to athletes with their placement within 1 week after ALL Early tryouts are complete. Athletes/Families have 48 hours to respond to the offer with an Acceptance or Denial. We have all tentative details available before our tryout to allow for the decision making process to be efficient | |
